Human Mind-Controlled Robotic Arm

Researchers in USA have developed a prosthetic arm at John Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory, that is controlled by human mind like a normal human limb.This robotic arm has been successfully tested on a 53 year old paralyzed woman named Jan Scheuermann in Pittsburgh.She is paralyzed neck-down.Jan was paralyzed 13 years ago when she was diagnosed with spinocerebellar degeneration.
Accurately translating the brain signals was one of the biggest challenges in mind-controlled prosthetics.This objective has been successfully achieved in this project.

The World's Smallest Working Aquarium

Anatoly Konenko from Russia created World's Smallest Working Aquarium.It holds just two tea spoons of water (approximately 10ml).It is made of glass and measures 30mm wide, 24mm high, 14mm deep.It can be held in the palm of your hand and contains miniature plants,stones and real fish. It is so small that there is only room for tiny zebra fish.Water is filled in this aquarium through a syringe so that the arrangements inside the aquarium remain undisturbed.A specially made fisnet is used for adding the fish to the tank.

A Swedish company has invented a mobile phone charger that runs on water.This charger has been named  PowerTrekk.This charger is good for those people who spend their time away from electricity grid in remote areas like desert or rural areas where there is no electricity.It  has been developed to charge mobile phones,cameras,GPS and other such rechargeable portable devices.

"My immense wall installations are extremely time consuming and repetitive manual work," says Hwang. "This is a form of meditative practice that helps me find my inner peace. Pins are used to hold buttons onto the surface to form a silhouetted image, or to disintegrate such image. No adhesive is used so the buttons are free to stay and move, which implies the genetic human tendency to be irresolute. I use buttons because they are common and ordinary, like the existence of human beings."
"By hammering thousands of pins onto a wall, I discover significance of existence," she adds. "Like the monks practicing Zen facing the wall, my work is a form of performance that leads to finding oneself." Hwang graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and has exhibited her work in New York, Paris and Seoul.
