According to wikipedia,Miss World Beauty Pageant is the oldest major surviving international Beauty Pageant.It was inaugurated by Eric Morley in 1951 in UK.It was introduced as a part of the Festival of British Celebrations.The audience this Beauty Pageant attracted led to the success of this event.The first Miss World Pageant attracted a huge global audience which was much more than international events like World Cup and Olympic Games.It was started as the Festival Bikini Contest.First Miss World was Sweden's Kiki Haakonson.She was the first and the last Miss World who had been crowned in two-piece swim suit.As this dress was considered obscene,so it raised many eye brows and grabbed head lines.That's why after first contest, the dress code for the contestants of this Beauty Pageant was replaced with more modest swim wear.
