According to wikipedia,Miss World Beauty Pageant is the oldest major surviving international Beauty Pageant.It was inaugurated by Eric Morley in 1951 in UK.It was introduced as a part of the Festival of British Celebrations.The audience this Beauty Pageant attracted led to the success of this event.The first Miss World Pageant attracted a huge global audience which was much more than international events like World Cup and Olympic Games.It was started as the Festival Bikini Contest.First Miss World was Sweden's Kiki Haakonson.She was the first and the last Miss World who had been crowned in two-piece swim suit.As this dress was considered obscene,so it raised many eye brows and grabbed head lines.That's why after first contest, the dress code for the contestants of this Beauty Pageant was replaced with more modest swim wear.

Beauty is the major factor in choosing the Miss World;other factors like intelligence,personality and fashion are also considered.As a tradition,the Miss World lives in London during the period she is holding this title.The winner of Miss World Beauty Pageant spends a year travelling around the world as a representative of Miss World Organisation to present and promote various causes of this organization like charity and promotion of tourism.Miss Universe and Miss Earth are rival Beauty Pageants of Miss World Beauty Pageant.
In 1980 major changes were made in Miss World judging process.For the first time the personality and intelligence were included in the evaluation process and Miss World Beauty Pageant adopted the slogan "Beauty with Purpose".The contestants of this Beauty Pageant usually involve young women of ages between 18 and 30.Since the death of Mr. Eric Morely on 2000,Mrs. Julia Morely co-chairs Miss World Beauty Pageant.
Currently Ivian Lunasol from Venezuela has been crowned Miss World 2011 on 6th of November 2011 in London.She was born on July 20,1989 in Guanare,Portuguesa,Venezuela.She is the 61th Miss World in the history of this Pageant.She is Diplomacy student at Universidad Central de Venezuela.She is 5.11 ft tall with black eyes and black hair.She has got a lovely slim figure.4in.Her parents died at the age of 8 and she comes from a family of twelve brothers and sisters.
