Bina48 is a humanoid robot which is based on the personality and appearance of a real person,Bina Rothblatt,the co-founder of LifeNaut,which is involved with robot-human fusion as a technological means to immortality.It is actually a robotic head,that is believed to be the most advanced humanoid robot to date.This robot resides at Terasem Movement Foundation's building in Bristol,Vermont.Terasem Movement Foundation is a nopn-profit organisation interested in artificial intelligence.Bina48 was developed by David Hanson of Hanson Robotics.It was developed for Martine Rothblatt,Bina Rothblatt's husband, to give Bina Rothblatt a kind of immortality.Martine Rothblatt is a millionaire and a businessman,who is believed to be involved with Terasem Movement Foundation.Martine Rothblatt paid $125,000 to Hanson Robotics for development of this robot.Martine Rothblatt,who was born male, married Bina Rothblatt before he underwent a sex change operation and they have stayed together after Martine's sex change operation.Bina48 is perhaps the first android which is based on a real woman.An android is a human like robot which has feelings and intelligence like a human being.

Bina48 has no body;its skin is made up of a material called "frubber" that with help of 30 servo motors underneath it enables her to give many human-like impressions like smiling,frowning and looking confused.Bina48 has the ability to connect with internet to find answers to factual questions and it can also chat with the user like a chatbot.It is designed to be a friendly robot that could not only make conversation with you based on the syntactical rules but also,while talking to you, it could use the information from its database containing thoughts,memories and personal experiences of Bina Rothblatt based on hours of conversations and interviews of Bina48 with Bina Rothblatt.This robot is equipped with "character engine" - a software that helps it evolve its logic and motive to deal intelligently with people around her by replicating a human personality.
This robot is not only capable of showing humanlike impressions but also it can roll its eye balls,blink its eye lashes and turn its head to mimic the behaviour of a real human being while interacting with a human being.It is programmed to learn and evolve its knowledge with passage of time and with its interaction with human beings.Though Bina48 is equipped with many advanced capabilities to mimic the behaviour of a real living person but still it has a lot of flaws.With advancement in technology we can expect that in future we will be able to see more more advanced and perfect androids that could intelligently and flawlessly imitate the personality and character of a real person much better than what Bina48 does.
