An electric car is eco-friendly and has fast response time as compared with combustion-engine powered car.This is why a lot of research is ongoing in automotive industry to develop a highly efficient and high speed electric car.With the advancement in battery technology and material engineering,it has now become possible for automotive industry to produce not only efficient street electric cars like Nissan Leaf but also sports electric cars like Tesla Roadster.A new sports electric car which has recently joined this category of cars is Artega SE.
Artega SE is the world's fastest electric sports car manufactured by Artega Germany.Artega SE is modelled after Artega's combustion-engine powered GT model.It was fist introduced at the Geneva motor show in 2011.

As claimed by the company Artega SE can reach a top speed of 250km/h (155mph) and can go from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in just 4.3 seconds.Unlike gasoline powered engine,the electric motor can deliver output linearly so, it can hit the speed of 100km/h 0.5 seconds earlier than the Artega's gasoline guzzling GT version .It is equipped with two electric motors on the rear axle that can generate total output power of 280 KW (380hp).Both these electric motors on the rear axle of Artega's SE can operate independently to drive each of two rear wheels. The entire drive-train is just 150 kgs.
The interior of Artega SE is equipped with multi-function sports steering wheel,which includes toggle switches on the car's wheel.The driver can use these toggle switches to adjust the recuperation rate when he removes his foot from the acceleration pedal.Artega SE's redesigned instrument cluster is fitted on the dashboard right behind the steering wheel,which houses some essential analog and digital gauges and displays for speed,battery level,range and energy flow.
Artega has its own unique features with width of luxury limousine and length of a compact car.It has estimated price of about $212,500 which is much more than Tesla's Roadster.

According to Artega's Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart,sports car drivers have very dynamic driving style,with frequent braking and acceleration,which is very energy inefficient.Unlike gasoline fuelled cars,the electric cars can recover that energy lost through braking and return this energy to the battery.Also,unlike gasoline fuelled cars,the electric cars convert the full extent of engine torque immediately,this is why driving an electric vehicle is a completely new and dynamic experience.

With an aluminium space frame and body composed of high-strength steel and alloys reinforced with carbon fibre,Artega SE weighs 1400kg which is about 100kg lighter than Artega GT.Despite being lighter than Artega GT, the Artega SE still comes with 57:43 weight distribution ratio towards the rear axle as the GT model.

The Artega SE is equipped with 37kWh Li-ion Polymer battery pack with nominal voltage of 350V.On full charge,the Artega SE has a range of 124 miles.The batteries of Artega SE may fully charged in 90 minutes when charged at a high-power charging station.Artega has its own unique features with width of luxury limousine and length of a compact car.It has estimated price of about $212,500 which is much more than Tesla's Roadster.
